Family run, hands on

  • Owned and run by brothers Stephen and Mark Ryan since 2016, who are involved in every clinic, every day
  • Both graduated with first-class honours in Podiatry from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and are members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists of Ireland
  • Specialists in muscle and joint pain of the foot and ankle, from sport or everyday life

As heard on FM104: Stephen talked to The Buzz about the rise in foot problems since the pandemic (December 2021). Read the FM104 article (opens in a new tab)

Every one of them CORU-registered, at our Finglas and Mount Merrion clinics.

Does any of this sound familiar?

These are the six things we hear most often in a first appointment. If you recognise yourself in even one of them, it is worth getting a proper diagnosis rather than another guess.

Persistent foot pain & heel discomfort
  • You have had multiple sessions for foot pain that is not getting any better
  • You have stopped walking, training or wearing the shoes you want to wear
  • You have already tried insoles, creams or rest and it came back
  • You have been told to live with it, or that surgery is the only option left
  • You have seen someone else about it and you are still in pain
  • You are putting off getting it looked at because you are dreading the treatment

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, appointments, and treatments. If you can't find what you're looking for, contact us directly.

Do I need a GP referral to see a podiatrist?

No referral is required. You can book directly online or by phone for any of our services, including biomechanical assessments, nail surgery, and routine foot care.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Most new patients can be seen within 48 hours, depending on the times that suit you. Book online or call us on (01) 556 3662.

What's the difference between a podiatrist and a chiropodist?

In Ireland there's no difference in who can treat you. Podiatrist and chiropodist are both protected titles for the same CORU-registered profession, and podiatrist is the more modern name. Our podiatrists do everything a chiropodist does, like nail care, corns, calluses and verrucas, as well as biomechanical assessments, custom orthotics and rehab for foot pain.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your initial appointment includes a full clinical history, foot and lower-limb assessment, and a discussion of your treatment options. For biomechanical concerns, dynamic gait scanning may also be performed at your first visit.

How long does it take to receive custom orthotics?

Following your biomechanical assessment and gait scan, Phits 3D-printed orthotics are typically ready within two to three weeks. We will contact you when they arrive for a fitting appointment.

Is ingrown toenail surgery painful?

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during the treatment. Some tenderness is normal for a few days afterwards, and we will provide clear aftercare instructions.

At what age can children be seen?

We see children of all ages for gait assessments, developmental foot checks, and orthotics. If you have concerns about your child's walking pattern or foot development, an early assessment is recommended.

Is podiatry covered by health insurance?

Many Irish health insurance plans cover podiatry consultations and treatment. We recommend checking directly with your insurer for your specific plan. We can provide receipts for all appointments.
