How We Assess & Treat

Our Technology

Equipment is only worth having if it changes the decision. Here is what we use, and what each thing actually tells us about your foot.

Measurement first, treatment second

Most foot pain that keeps coming back does so because the mechanical cause was never identified - the symptom was treated and the load that produced it was left alone. Everything below exists to answer one question: where is the force actually going, and what should change about it.

Gait and Motion Footscan

A pressure plate that records how force travels through your foot across multiple walking strikes, rather than a single static impression.

Why it matters: How a foot looks standing still tells you very little. The useful information is in where the load goes and when, and that is only visible in motion.

Phits 3D-printed orthotics

Orthotics manufactured by Materialise directly from your own Footscan pressure data, rather than selected from a range of stock shapes.

Why it matters: A device built from your measurements can offload the specific area that is overloaded. We prescribe them when the assessment supports it, and say so when it does not.

Class 4 Remy laser therapy

Medical laser used to reduce pain and improve tissue tolerance in the early phase of treatment.

Why it matters: Rehabilitation cannot start while a tissue is too painful to load. Bringing symptoms down sooner brings the real work forward.

Pulsed radiofrequency neuromodulation

A treatment that targets the nerve component of persistent pain.

Why it matters: Foot Focus is currently the only podiatry clinic in Ireland offering it. It matters for the patients whose pain has a nerve driver and who have therefore not responded to conventional treatment.

Patient Outcome Technology

How Advanced Technology Improves Your Recovery

We use Footscan dynamic pressure mapping and Phits 3D printed orthotics to answer one question: how do we help you move pain-free?

Step 1 of 03 • Digital Pressure Mapping

Understand How Your Feet Distribute Force

Patient Benefit: Helps guide more accurate, targeted pain relief for heel and arch pain.

Using our Gait and Motion Footscan pressure platform, we capture thousands of data points showing exactly how force is distributed across every part of your foot as you walk. This reveals the pressure peaks that cause discomfort.

  • Identifies exact pressure points causing heel or arch pain
  • Measures ground reaction forces during your actual gait
  • Provides objective baseline data to track your treatment progress
