Physio Focus: physiotherapy and podiatry under one roof
Lower limb problems rarely stay in one place. Foot pain changes how you walk, and how you walk loads the ankle, knee, hip and back differently. Having physiotherapy in the same clinic as the podiatry team means those two halves of the problem can be looked at together rather than in separate appointments at separate places, weeks apart.
Assessment first
The same principle as our podiatry work: establish what is actually driving the problem before deciding what to do about it.
Progressive loading
Rehabilitation that rebuilds the tissue's capacity, rather than rest that lets it weaken further.
Alongside the podiatry team
Where a foot mechanics issue is part of the picture, the podiatrists are in the same building.
Treated by a dually registered clinician
Samuel Gutierrez Torre is registered with CORU as both a podiatrist (PO068518) and a physiotherapist (PT069984), and is a member of the ISCP. That combination is uncommon, and it matters for lower limb problems: the assessment does not stop at the ankle because the person doing it is qualified on both sides of it. Samuel also offers dry needling, which he trained in at La Salle Higher Education Centre.
