Neuromodulation for foot pain in Dublin

Neuromodulation therapy is an innovative, pulsed radiofrequency treatment designed to directly target the nerve component of pain. The device we use is the Stimpod. As the only podiatry clinic in Ireland currently offering this unique modality, we use it to recalibrate chronically inflamed or compressed nerves that have been sensitive over extended periods. Rather than relying on pain relief alone, we combine this gentle, relatively painless therapy with targeted strength and rehabilitation to address both the underlying functionality of your injury and the altered nerve response. Your treatment begins with a comprehensive initial assessment to determine if nerve involvement is driving your symptoms; if so, a tailored, multi-session neuromodulation care plan is designed specifically around your recovery goals.

Neuromodulation clinical care at Foot Focus Podiatry Dublin

Who is this for? Patients with long-standing foot pain where the assessment shows a nerve is part of the problem, and where conventional treatment hasn't been enough on its own. We use it for Morton's neuroma and for neuropathy, where the nerves themselves are damaged or irritated. We'll only recommend it if your assessment supports it.

What are the benefits of neuromodulation?

  • Targets the nerveAimed at the nerve component of pain, which load management and exercise alone don't always reach.
  • Part of a plan, not instead of oneUsed alongside strength and rehab work, so the cause of the overload is still dealt with.
  • Assessment firstWe confirm a nerve is involved before suggesting it, and tell you honestly if it isn't right for you.
  • Unique in IrelandFoot Focus is currently the only podiatry clinic in Ireland offering it.

What happens during neuromodulation at Foot Focus?

  1. AssessmentA full assessment to find out what's driving your pain and whether a nerve is involved.
  2. TreatmentIf it's the right call, neuromodulation is delivered in clinic as part of your plan.

Frequently asked questions about neuromodulation

What is neuromodulation used for?

We use it for foot pain with a nerve component, including Morton's neuroma and neuropathy. Your assessment tells us whether a nerve is part of your pain, and we only suggest it if it is.

Is neuromodulation right for me?

Only if your assessment shows a nerve is part of your pain. For most foot pain, settling the pain and building strength is the fix. If we think neuromodulation would help, we'll explain why and what's involved before you decide.

How much does it cost, and is it covered by health insurance?

The price depends on what you need, and we'll tell you before you book. Most Irish health insurance plans that include podiatry will cover some or all of it. Check your policy or ask your insurer, and we'll give you a receipt to claim with.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly with any of our clinics, online or by phone, and you'll be seen by a CORU-registered podiatrist.
